PAST PROJECTS

BLUE FOUNDATION

Kirstine was founding member, lead singer, songwriter and lyricist in the award winning band, Blue Foundation; from its early inception in 1998-2000 until 2009, by when she, along with other members of the band, had stopped the collaboration, and the band changed character.

Blue Foundation was founded between 1998-2000 in Copenhagen, arising from the collaboration between Tobias Wilner, Anders Bertram and Kirstine Stubbe Teglbjærg. The three had worked together since 1995 in the indie pop band Polytone. After the end of Polytone, Tobias, Anders and Kirstine continued to work together and created the first Blue Foundation tracks such as ‘Hide’ ‘Wise Guy’ and ‘Hollywood’, joined by Sune Martin. Soon, Tatsuki, Bo Rande and MC Jabber came along, and the core of the band for the next ten years was formed.

The six members: MC Jabber (vocalist, lyrics), Sune Martin (bass), Bo Rande (trumpet, co-producer), Tatsuki Oshima (turntablist), Tobias Wilner (producer, composer) and Kirstine Stubbe Teglbjærg (vocalist, lyrics, songwriter) formed the band's permanent core during the first ten decisive years, when Blue Foundation had their national and international breakthrough and created their biggest hits to date. All six members were present and made their distinct contribution on all Blue Foundations releases and tours during the first ten years. Kirstine Stubbe Teglbjærg was the lead singer of the band and the sole female singer and songwriter during the first ten years.

In addition to these members, other gifted musicians contributed to Blue Foundation, live or in the studio, in that period, such as Christoffer Ohlsson, Nikolaj Bundvig. Lasse Herbst, Emil Ferslev, Frederik Hantho, Negalé Jones and more.

By 2009, the four core members Sune Martin, Tatsuki Oshima, MC Jabber and Kirstine Stubbe Teglbjærg had stopped the collaboration with Bo Rande and Tobias Wilner, who then continued as a duo, and the band changed character.

From then on, Bo Rande and Tobias Wilner began to work with a rotating cast of guest contributors.

Kirstine contributed as songwriter, lyricist, lead vocalist and vocal arranger on all of the band’s first three albums: 'Blue Foundation’ (2001), 'Sweep of Days’ (2004) and 'Life of a Ghost’ (2007), along with all EPs and singles.

The band’s breakthrough came in 2004 with their second album, 'Sweep of Days', for which they received highly critical acclaim along with several prize nominations and awards.

Kirstine is the co-composer, lyricist and voice of Blue Foundation-hit-songs such as 'Bonfires', 'End Of The Day', 'As I Moved On', and the multimillion streamed 'Eyes on Fire', featured on the US Grammy nominated soundtrack for the first 'Twilight’ movie based on Stephenie Meyer’s bestselling novels. Kirstine's melody and vocals from the intro of 'Eyes on Fire' has gone viral on TikTok and has become synonymous with the Twilight Saga and the season of fall: #hoahoahoaseason.

Together with Blue Foundation, Kirstine has toured in Norway, Finland, Sweden, France, Germany, Japan, UK and Denmark.

An ambitious, artistic expression of modern urbanity (…) A ceremony of the souls, a symphony of sounds and forms and an explosive cacophony bound together by a shared, creative energy (…) a timeless, human sensitivity amidst the clicking, flickering, scratching, dusty prints of noisy patterns of city-sound
