At the moment Sitrekin’s voice is going viral on TikTok with the Blue Foundation-song ‘Eyes on Fire’ via the hashtag #hoahoaseason or #hoahoahoahoa, and has become the internet’s favorite meme for expressing rainy weather, fog and fall season.
Sitrekin launched in 2021 with the debut single ‘Open Chest’, which went #1 on Danish National Radio P6Beat and achieved international attention e.g. on KEXP. All Sitrekin's three singles have been added to heavy DK radio rotation.
As a self-produced artist, Sitrekin has created a unique sound of her own: Atmospheric, electronic-indie with a touch of melancholic pop, strong melodies and lots of sonic details.
In May 2023 Sitrekin was awarded a major grant from the prestigious Danish Arts Foundation and she was highlighted for her strongly personal and minimalistic productions, catchy melodies and luminous vocals. Read the reason behind the grant here.
In addition to this, she was selected for Impala’s ‘100 Artists To Watch’ in 2023.
Sitrekin’s music has been endorsed by sound/tech gigant Dolby Labs to launch their new spatial audio format Dolby Atmos at their press events in London (2021) and Copenhagen (2022). She is one of the first Danish artists to embrace the new spatial sound format.
Sitrekin is currently working on her forthcoming debut album which will be released in both Dolby Atmos and stereo.
Sitrekin made her live debut with her band in October 2022 at a packed Hotel Cecil in Copenhagen and ended the year opening for British alt-J at their arena concert in KB Hallen, in front of 4000 people.
In 2023 Sitrekin has toured in Greenland (Arctic Sounds Festival), and performed at the SPOT Festival and in the grandiose ‘DR Koncertsalen’ in Copenhagen. In September 2023, she inaugurated VEGA’s brand new immersive sound system and played the opening concert of VEGA’s immersive concert series in Copenhagen.
On February the 2nd 2024 Sitrekin will be returning to Lille VEGA in Copenhagen, performing a double concert with fellow Danish artist Yör.
